Our History: Changing Lives Through Better Hearing

Bieri Hearing Specialists was founded in 1952 by Gottlieb Bieri. He wanted to help his parents and others with hearing loss. His daughter, Cathy Bieri Ryan, Au.D., later took over the practice, expanding it from a small home office to five locations across Mid-Michigan. Cathy’s dedication to patient-centered care and community service set the standard for excellence. Today, we carry on her legacy by providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

A New Chapter: Focusing on the Future

In July 2023, Bieri Hearing Specialists started a new chapter under Sarah Roggenbuck and Dr. Melissa Menzies. Together, they bring over 40 years of experience in hearing healthcare, advancing the practice’s mission through innovation and empowering patients. Their vision focuses on fostering a supportive team and delivering life-changing care.

Bieri Hearing Specialists now has five locations: Saginaw, Frankenmuth, Midland, Bay City, and Clare. Our team of 15 professionals offers services like:

Dr. Melissa Menzies, Au.D.
With over 20 years of experience as a Doctor of Audiology, Melissa is a lifelong advocate for hearing health. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University, her master’s degree from Michigan State University, and her doctorate from A.T. Still University in Arizona.

Sarah Roggenbuck
Sarah brings a unique perspective to the practice. With a background in hearing aid manufacturing and a passion for helping others, she dedicates herself to making a difference. Sarah earned a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and audiology from Old Dominion University.
