Providing Quality Audiology Service

What to expect during your first visit

At Bieri Hearing Specialists, we understand that having a solid sense of hearing is important to each and every patient of ours. This is why we pride ourselves in having an office that provides some of the leading audiology services in Saginaw MI. Our hearing specialists offer audiology evaluations, hearing rehabilitation services and much more because we want you to be able to live as normal a life as possible, no matter how severe your hearing loss may be.

Whether you recently began suffering from hearing loss, or you’ve been coping with hearing loss for years, our experts can help you with any concerns or needs you may have. From your initial hearing screening to the choice of which hearing instrument best suits your needs, our specialists will be right by your side helping you make any important decisions.

Upon arrival, front office staff will collect health and insurance info and provide HIPAA Privacy copy. Your audiologist will review your hearing history and medical background during the exam.

The audiologist will use an otoscope to check your ears for wax or debris. They may also have a video otoscope for you to see inside your ear. Impedance/immittance testing is done to check the movement of the eardrums and identify any abnormalities.

The pure tone hearing test is done in a quiet environment, often in a soundproof booth. Headphones connected to an audiometer are placed over your ears, which transmits tones at different volumes to determine your hearing threshold. In the speech test, you'll listen to words at various volumes and repeat them to assess your ability to detect and understand speech. Another possible test is the speech in noise test to evaluate your hearing in noisy environments.

Your test results will be recorded on an audiogram and reviewed with you by a hearing care professional. The audiogram shows your hearing loss and the percentage of normal speech you can hear. Your audiologist will discuss the results and any concerns with you.

  • Have a family history of hearing loss
  • Annoyed with people because you can’t understand them
  • Feel stressed from straining to hear
  • Withdrawing from social situations
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Exposure to loud noises over a long period of time
  • Taking medications that can harm hearing

Here is what our clients say!

My mother is 92 years old and lives out of town. Her hearing aid stopped working and I thought I would have a whole day of travel back and forth to get it repaired. Instead, Keri from your Midland office picked up the hearing aid, repaired it and delivered it back to me so I could return it to my mother. It is not every day that someone encounters someone as caring as Keri and I wanted Bieri Hearing to know how grateful I am.

- Sue P., Pinconning

My 13 yr old son was chosen as a winner of Bier Hearing’s “Hear for the Holidays” contest. He has had hearing aids since 6 yrs old. We have never been to a place that cared as much in all these years. For once my son didn't leave a place in tears because of pain. To tell you that you are great is an understatement! We can't thank Bieri Hearing enough for the blessing you have given our family.
